General Information

Lucy's Hearth accepts donations of new and used items which help to stretch our budget here at the shelter or to give to residents when they leave to help furnish their apartments.

Due to limited storage space and the extended length of stay for residents, we must limit donations to specific needs at any given time.

Please call first (847-2921). Ask for Carole, Alie, or Nicole.





Holiday Giving

Thanksgiving: turkeys or preferably gift cards for a turkey, fresh vegetables (potatoes, squash, celery, green beans, corn,) stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, pies, nuts, olives.

Christmas

Each year, the Hearth provides Christmas gifts for our 9 families at the shelter as well as over 80 other former resident families.  We could not do this without the generosity of the community and we are so appreciative of your help.

A few guidelines which will help us make the holidays a happy time for those we serve:

1. We only give new items as gifts for the holidays.  We cannot accept any used items in December.
2. In most cases, it is best if gifts are not wrapped.  Donations of gift wrap is always appreciated.
3. Though we are always grateful for food donations, in December, we do not have the space or the person-power to manage canned food drives.
4. Gift certificates, phone cards, and movie coupons are very appreciated.
5. Gifts for pre-teen and teenage children are especially needed.
